Diabetes, Dosage and Safety Information

Can people with type 2 diabetes use Wegovy®?
People with type 2 diabetes who are also overweight or living with obesity may be assessed by a doctor to determine whether Wegovy® is appropriate as part of a weight management plan. Wegovy® is primarily indicated for chronic weight management rather than as a standalone diabetes treatment.

How is Wegovy® used?
Wegovy® is administered once weekly by subcutaneous injection. Treatment usually starts at a low dose and is gradually increased over time to help the body adjust. The actual dose schedule should always be determined by a doctor.

What are the possible side effects?
Common side effects may include nausea, diarrhoea, constipation, vomiting, abdominal discomfort, reduced appetite, indigestion, or bloating. Contact your doctor promptly if you experience persistent vomiting, severe abdominal pain, dehydration, low blood sugar symptoms, or any concerning reaction.
